Join us for the final leg of our Running with a Purpose: Spring Running Series!
On June 1 from 9AM-12PM at Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area we will run, walk, and hike to raise money and awareness for organizations working on air-quality issues. This challenge will include a walk/hike and run option that will take you through beautiful scenic views of the heritage area. You'll have the opportunity to mix & mingle with local nonprofits, run groups, our friends at HOKA, and the Big Peach Running Co.'s Big Peach on Wheels. Enjoy pre and post run fuel and run necessities at our aid stations and great conversations with those fighting for better air quality in/around Atlanta.
All week long, the energy will continue on Strava as part of the Running Up For Air: Clean Air Vert Challenge. Between June 1 and 9, participate by logging as much vert as possible on your favorite local peak and raising money for nonprofit partners.
Please RSVP above to attend the in person event and visit the Strava link below to sign up for the virtual challenge, and how to donate.
Registration is requested for each attendee. Please click the RSVP button at the top of this page to sign up for the in person event. We will have an activity waiver to complete at the start of the event via QR code or paper form.
Please bring a reusable water bottle. This is a cupless event!
Address: 3787 Klondike Rd., Stonecrest, GA 30038
Meeting Location: Davidson - Arabia Mountain Nature Center
Did you know that Arabia and Panola Mountains are home to fragile ecosystems and species found almost nowhere else on earth? That includes a variety of rare and endangered plants, species like diamorpha, snorklewort, and quillwort. These plants live in the solution pits (small patches of sand, dirt, and muddy water) that dot the seemingly barren rock face. At various times of the year, the plants that live in the solution pits bloom, covering the mountain with a beautiful show of life.
Check out this Leave No Trace video to find out how to be a better steward of Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area when visiting.
